Join us for Ted & Paula’s Tadpole Journey - a new Gigglebug original series!

The 52 x 11 min 2D animated series combines action with silly cartoony comedy. 

We are looking for Layout & BG Artists to support our talented team. At the Gigglebug Studio, you would be part of a friendly and tight-knit team, working in collaboration with the Directors, Layout & BG Supervisor, Production and all of our talented artists!

The positions will be located at our Las Palmas studio, so candidates that are in Las Palmas or willing to relocate will be prioritized.

Under the supervision of the Layout & BG Supervisor and Series Director, you will be responsible for:

• Working on episodic backgrounds, from the layout step to the finished painted background.

• Following the provided reference materials including locked animatic, colored location designs, and any other guidelines from the supervisor

• Addressing both internal and external notes on both layouts and color backgrounds

• Making sure the deadlines are met and files are also technically correct for the following departments to work on

Requirements

• Minimum of one Layout & BG Artist credit on a 2D animated series

• Minimum of two years’ experience of working in Animation

• Good understanding of composition, continuity, staging and perspective.

• Good understanding of color theory and an eye for color in general

• Excellent communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills, both in terms of managing your own workload and in terms of keeping your files clean and well organized

• Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team, and ability to take direction

• Ability to organize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines

• Passion for cartoons

• Excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. Experience with Flow Production tracking (former Shotgrid) and Miro are considered a plus.
